For nearly 80 years, the Burt family have been making high quality cakes and biscuits for which they are well known across the UK and USA. Working week:
- 8.00 am - 4.30 pm 5 days per week (30 mins lunch)
- Total hours per week: 40.0
Tasks include:
- Preparing and mixing the ingredients
- Baking
- Piping and Lettering
- Layering and Bonding
- General decorating
- General finishing
- Packaging (working the line and ensuring orders are pallet wrapped)
- General hygiene duties

- Be a baker with a passion for all types of bakery work
- Have an excellent eye for detail and quality control
- Works well under pressure and keeps to deadlines
- Keep errors to an absolute minimum
- Keen to learn new skills and ‘be developed further’
Personal qualities:
- Follow and have a good understanding of baking

Desired qualifications:
- Previous qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Three GCSEs grade 3 and a minimum of GCSE grade 1 in Maths and English.
- Be part of an an accredited Apprenticeship Programme
