Bridgend County Borough Council provides a wide range of Adult Social Care services these include; domiciliary care, residential care homes for older people, supported living accommodation for adults with learning disabilities / mental health conditions and day service opportunities.
You will gain on the job training, experience and support to achieve a vocational Level 2 Qualification in Health and Social Care for Adults. The vocational Level 2 Award in Health and Social Care will help you develop your ability to practically support the care and support needs of adults in a range of settings and to develop and demonstrate your knowledge, understanding, behaviours, skills and practice within a social care setting. Successful completion of the qualification enables individuals to work as a qualified social care worker in Level 2 roles across the Social Care sector. It will also enable you to apply for registration with Social Care Wales as a domiciliary / residential care worker for adults.
Due to funding stipulations, we cannot consider those who have already achieved a vocational qualification at an equivalent or higher level in health and social care, or those who have already achieved a qualification at degree level. We can accept those who have undertaken Health and Social Care courses at GCSE/ A-Level.

Assessment and interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend for interview at a council venue. The recruitment process will include a range of assessments which are designed to assess candidates attributes and competency against the requirements of the post. This is likely to include a competency based interview.
The interview will give candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experience against the criteria set out in the Person Specification.
