This isn’t part-time. It’s a path. This role is ideal for someone 16–18-years old with serious commitment to begin a paid apprenticeship alongside Chef Anjelica Jelly at Restaurant 1840. This is real service, real fire, and a full introduction to the life of a working kitchen.
Full-time apprenticeship (35 hours/week incl. college day)Every weekend is on — service is when others rest.
Seasonal holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, etc.) are part of the deal — with added perks and premium pay for the big days. £7.55/hr, Government-recognised qualification (Commis Chef Level 2)
You’ll be working side-by-side with a head chef who believes in food as craft, not content — learning prep, service, fine dining techniques, butchery, ferments, and more. We want someone who: Shows up early, stays sharp, and never says “that’ll do”. Someone who wants to cook for real — not just get by, is hungry for knowledge and ready for the pressure of the pass.
