Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Carpenter Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in carpentry and construction while working alongside experienced professionals. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry, including fabrication, assembly, and joinery, while adhering to safety standards and building codes.
Responsibilities
- Assist skilled carpenters in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
- Learn to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for tasks such as cutting, shaping, and joining materials.
- Participate in the fabrication of components for roofs, walls, and other structures.
- Support the assembly of frameworks and structures by following blueprints and technical drawings.
- Help with heavy lifting and moving of materials on-site as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Follow instructions from supervisors while developing your skills in plumb alignment and joinery techniques.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of carpentry principles is advantageous but not essential; eagerness to learn is key.
- Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels) and power tools (e.g., drills, nail guns) is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily tasks.
- Understanding of basic electrical concepts can be beneficial for certain projects.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
