Apprentice Groundworker / Trainee Climbing Arborist

Job Type: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Salary: Dependent on age and experience, in line with apprenticeship pay rates (with progression)
Hours: Monday–Friday, occasional weekends as required

The Role:

We’re seeking a motivated and hardworking Apprentice Groundworker / Trainee Climbing Arborist to join our small team. This is a hands-on role that offers the chance to gain practical experience while working toward industry-recognised qualifications. You’ll start by supporting ground operations, with the opportunity to progress into climbing and advanced arboricultural tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with tree felling, pruning, hedge cutting, stump grinding, and site clearance
Operate and maintain tools and machinery (e.g., chipper, saws, grinders) under supervision
Support climbers with rope work, ground support, and site safety
Learn and follow safe working practices and health & safety procedures
Maintain a tidy and professional worksite
Attend off-site training sessions as part of your apprenticeship

What We’re Looking For:

A genuine interest in arboriculture and working outdoors in all weather
Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn
Physically fit and able to handle manual work
Positive attitude and good communication skills
Willing to work as part of a small, close-knit team
Full UK driving license is a must as we are in a remote location
No prior experience required – training provided
