Apprentice Groundworker / Trainee Climbing Arborist
Job Type: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Salary: Dependent on age and experience, in line with apprenticeship pay rates (with progression)
Hours: Monday–Friday, occasional weekends as required

The Role:
We’re seeking a motivated and hardworking Apprentice Groundworker / Trainee Climbing Arborist to join our small team. This is a hands-on role that offers the chance to gain practical experience while working toward industry-recognised qualifications. You’ll start by supporting ground operations, with the opportunity to progress into climbing and advanced arboricultural tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with tree felling, pruning, hedge cutting, stump grinding, and site clearance
- Operate and maintain tools and machinery (e.g., chipper, saws, grinders) under supervision
- Support climbers with rope work, ground support, and site safety
- Learn and follow safe working practices and health & safety procedures
- Maintain a tidy and professional worksite
- Attend off-site training sessions as part of your apprenticeship
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine interest in arboriculture and working outdoors in all weather
- Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn
- Physically fit and able to handle manual work
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Willing to work as part of a small, close-knit team
- Full UK driving license is a must as we are in a remote location
- No prior experience required – training provided
