Key Details:

Locations: Various sites across NHS Lanarkshire.

Duration: Fixed term post for 12 months starting from the 18th of August 2025. Part-time hours available with pro-rata salary.

Eligibility: Applicants should be aged 16 to 24 years old on 1st of August 2025 (or up to 29 years for applicants who have a disability or those with care experience*) are eligible. Must demonstrate proficiency at SCQF Level 5/National 5 level.

What We Offer:

Training: Gain invaluable on-the-job training to develop a diverse range of business and administrative skills.

Qualification: Work towards achieving a Level 5 SCQF qualification in Business and Administration with New College Lanarkshire, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

Support: You will be well supported on this Modern Apprenticeship Programme with a dedicated workplace buddy, a Job Coach from the in-house Employability Team and regular networking sessions with other apprentices.
What We're Looking For:

Motivated Individuals: Highly motivated and committed individuals eager to join our Modern Apprenticeship Programme.

Skills: Strong communication, customer service, and IT skills, along with the ability to understand various procedures and processes.

Interest: A particular interest in administrative roles, coupled with a positive attitude towards work and professional development.
Duties as a Clerical Officer may include:
-
General reception duties.
-
Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
-
General Admin tasks such as; Photocopying, emailing and filing.

Dealing with enquiries, either face-to-face or by telephone, from the public, patients and external agencies.

Maintain appointment systems - resolve disputed appointment times, offer new appointments and re-arrange existing appointments.

Preparation of orders for stationery, supplies and sundries to ensure adequate stock levels e.g. purchase orders, pre-printed stock orders.
No Prior Experience Necessary: This Modern Apprenticeship welcomes applicants with limited work experience, including school leavers.
