Tax Effective Ltd is a boutique accountancy practice based in London, working with healthcare professionals and small businesses. We blend traditional finance services with modern digital tools and are looking for a motivated individual to join us as an Assistant Finance and Accounts Apprentice.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience across finance, admin, marketing, and business operations — while studying towards your AAT Level 3 Assistant Accountant qualification.
What You'll Do
- Support bookkeeping, VAT returns, and payroll processing
- Assist in preparing client reports, financial summaries, and Excel models with advanced formulas
- Handle admin and PA responsibilities, including diary scheduling, inbox support, and internal follow-ups
- Help maintain internal systems and workflows, and ensure accurate file organisation (mainly digital)
- Contribute to marketing support, including website edits, Social media adverts and LinkedIn activity
- Assist with preparing daily and monthly sales, commission, and performance reports for telecom retail clients
Training
- On-the-job training will be delivered by senior team members, including regular 1:1 support, feedback, and practical coaching.
- Train with First Intuition, attending structured online learning sessions and completing coursework remotely alongside their practical work duties. Training will follow the AAT Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard.
- Typically attend online classes one day per week, with study and revision time integrated into their work schedule. Most of the training will take place remotely, although occasional in-person workshops may be offered at First Intuition’s London centre (W1T 6AA) if preferred.
What We're Looking For
- Good communication and IT skills
- Strong attention to detail and initiative
- Willingness to learn and multi-task across finance and admin
- Comfortable using spreadsheets and cloud tools
- Ideally some basic Excel knowledge (formulas, formatting)

Career Progression
Successful apprentices may be offered a permanent role with scope to support financial advisory projects, take on client-facing responsibilities, and progress towards further qualifications.
