Summary
We are seeking an Apprentice Automotive Technician to join our OMC Family at OMC Motor Group. This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in the automotive industry, where you will gain hands-on experience and training under the guidance of experienced technicians. This will be alongside a block release college course at the Ford Academy in Daventry where you will complete NVQ level 1, 2 and 3 courses over a 3 year period. The successful candidate will be trained on light commercial vehicles and will gain manufacturer accreditation on completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
- Learn to perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake services.
- Participate in training programs to develop technical skills and knowledge of automotive systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding vehicle issues.
Requirements
- A keen interest in automotive technology and repair.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in the automotive field.
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team.
- Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics is advantageous but not required.
- A Minimum of grade 4 GCSE is required in Math, English and Science.
