Salary range Band 1-3, £23,656 - £27,269 (£19,577 - £22,567 pro rata)

Trafford Council is a Living Wage Employer - this means that we pay all our staff a minimum of the Real Living Wage rate which is currently £12 per hour. For any periods where our lowest hourly rate drops below the Real Living Wage rate applicable at the time, we provide an hourly supplement to increase pay to this level. This applies to staff who are on the lowest pay point of our Band 1 grade.

About the Role
This is an exciting, varied role in which you will be working with a Library Manager and the wider library team to deliver the main priorities which include supporting various reader development initiatives such as the Summer Reading Challenge and Bookstart, assisting with the preparation and delivery of the service’s cultural events and activities programme, helping with book stock management processes and assisting with promotional activity around library services and the benefits of library use to the borough’s residents.
You will also spend time working in our libraries, including our Local Studies Centre, delivering day-to-day library services to residents.

You will have great digital skills. You will be organised, flexible, committed to continuous learning and confident to come up with and share your own ideas.

Additional Information
- Flexibility to work within all library opening hours (10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturday) along with evening and weekend work outside of these hours to assist in covering library events and activities as required.
- Willing and able to travel to sites across Trafford and occasionally beyond.
- Occasional home working.
