WE ARE STUDIO FORTY SIX, A VIDEO PRODUCTION AGENCY. We're a small team in the West Midlands with a passion for video production. As a Video Production Apprentice, you’ll be part of a creative, fast-moving team working on a huge variety of projects - from festivals and business podcasts to social media reels and branded content.
Overview:
As a Video Production Apprentice at Studio Forty Six, you’ll be part of a creative, fast-moving team working on a huge variety of projects - from festivals and business podcasts to social media reels and branded content. You’ll gain hands-on experience in all areas of production while learning industry skills on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with filming podcasts, events, and brand shoots
- Set up and pack down video, audio, lighting, and podcast gear
- Edit short-form content (e.g. reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts)
- Organise footage and help manage project files
- Support on-site at shoots across different locations
- Help maintain and prepare kit for upcoming projects
- Take part in planning and creative sessions

Ideal Skills & Qualities:
- Passionate about video, media, and digital content
- Willing to get stuck in and learn by doing
- Organised, reliable, and pays attention to detail
- Some editing knowledge (Premiere Pro, CapCut, etc.) is a plus
- Comfortable working in a small, creative team environment

Training & Support:
- 7+ hours per week off-the-job training included
- Ongoing guidance from a mentor and training provider
- Real experience across a wide range of client projects
Entry requirements
MAths and English GCSE would be positive for your application but not a requirement - Grade C/4 and above.
Training to be provided
You will be undertaking a Level 3 Production Assistant Apprenticeship with Creative Alliance.
This apprenticeship combines both on-the-job and off-the-job training delivered by the award-winning, creative specialist provider, Creative Alliance.
Throughout the course, you will gain hands-on experience and learn about:
The video industry landscape
Genre and idea creation
Responding effectively to briefs
Preparing and pitching concepts
Working within a media team and participating in pre-production
Managing relationships with talent, contributors, and suppliers
Budgeting essentials
Technical skills and communication during shoots
Editing and post-production workflows

Things to consider
There will be travel as part of the role, you will be transported there but be aware this might mean late nights and also weekend work. Part of the role is to film sporting events so this filming is in out of work hours.
There will also be freelance opportunities for additional work beyond the apprenticeship contract if wanted.
