Who We Are:
The Port of London Authority is the statutory harbour authority for the tidal Thames and responsible for 95 miles of the River Thames from the Estuary to Teddington Lock in West London. We work to keep river users safe, protect and enhance the environment and promote the use of the river for trade and travel.
What You’ll Do:

Develop the skills and experience necessary to become a fully qualified Electrician over a structured 4-year programme.
- Attend college one day per week, where you’ll learn the theory and practical skills needed to achieve Level 2 and Level 3 diplomas in electrical installation and maintenance.
- Work alongside experienced electricians to assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Follow a competency-based training programme, progressing through each stage with sign-off to ensure you meet both industry and company standards.
- Learn to interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and electrical regulations.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and practices at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of your training and work experience.
What We’re Looking For:

A keen interest in electrical installation and maintenance work.
- 5 GCSE’s grade A-C (9-4) including Maths, English language and Physics or equivalent.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to complete the full 4-year apprenticeship programme.
