We are seeking a motivated and technically curious individual to join our team at Central Refractories as an Apprentice in Refractory Technical Sales. This entry-level role is designed to provide hands-on training and development in the sales, application, and technical aspects of refractory products used in high-temperature industrial processes. You will work alongside experienced sales and engineering professionals, learning how to identify customer needs, recommend appropriate refractory solutions, and support long-term client relationships.
What you’ll be doing:

Assist senior sales representatives in managing customer accounts and developing new business opportunities.

Learn to evaluate customer requirements and recommend suitable refractory products and services.

Participate in site visits and technical inspections to understand product performance and installation environments.

Support the preparation of technical quotations, proposals, and presentations.

Gain knowledge of refractory materials, manufacturing processes, and industrial applications (e.g., steel, cement, foundry, distillery, petrochemical).

Collaborate with external contractors and internal technical, production, and logistics teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and training progress.

Commit to continuous learning and development through formal training, mentorship, and on-the-job experience.

Help maintain accurate sales records, databases, and documentation.

Prepare and distribute internal reports, sales data summaries, and meeting notes.

Coordinate with logistics, customer service, and production teams for order tracking and follow-up.

Assist with scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, and maintaining filing systems.

Handle basic office tasks such as document management, email correspondence, and data entry.
What you’ll bring:

High school diploma or equivalent; preference given to candidates with a background in engineering, materials science, or related technical fields.

Strong interest in industrial sales and materials technology.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to travel and work in industrial environments.

Eagerness to learn and develop both technical and sales competencies.

Valid driver's license is advantageous.

Prepared to attend college for further education.
Career Path:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program, the candidate may transition into a full-time Refractory Technical Sales Representative role.
