Installer’s Apprentice
If you’re starting out in furniture or kitchen installation, have a keen eye for detail and a positive, can‑do attitude, this could be the role for you.
As an Installer’s Apprentice, you’ll learn on the job alongside our senior installers, working in clients’ homes and in our Lower Dicker workshop and showroom. We’ll teach you the Willow Tree way: precision, care, tidy workspaces and respectful communication with clients.
You will be (learning & doing)
- Assisting with fitting pre‑assembled cabinets and making fine adjustments on site
- Helping install hardware such as hinges, catches, drawer pulls and integral magnets
- Scribing panels, pelmets and upstands for a perfect fit (with guidance)
- Protecting finished cabinetry and client property; moving and handling with care
- Keeping the work area organised, clean and safe; packing tools and materials
- Taking basic site measurements and notes for the workshop
- Supporting snagging, touch‑ups and final presentation before handover
- Communicating politely with clients and updating the lead installer on progress
- Loading/unloading vans and checking components against drawings and lists
- Learning safe use of hand and power tools (track saw, drill/driver, level, laser, etc.)
Bonus skills (nice to have): basic plumbing/electrical awareness, silicone finishing, and an interest in traditional joinery details. What you’ll learn
- The full installation process for bespoke kitchens, utilities, wardrobes and fitted furniture
- Reading drawings, elevations and method statements
- Scribing techniques, templating for stone/worktops, and achieving tight tolerances
- Problem‑solving on site and communicating clearly with clients and team members
- Professional site etiquette, health & safety, and quality assurance sign‑off
About you
- A genuine interest in cabinetmaking, installation or carpentry
- Great attitude, punctual, tidy and reliable; takes pride in doing things properly
- Comfortable working in clients’ homes and representing the brand professionally
- Physically capable of manual handling with safe technique (training provided)
