Job Summary
We’re looking for a proactive and motivated individual to join us as a Level 4 IT Infrastructure Technician Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while studying towards a recognised qualification. You’ll play a vital role in supporting, maintaining, and securing IT systems across the organisation, keeping our colleagues connected and our operations running smoothly.

This is a 30-hour per week role. Hours may fall across any of the seven days, with some flexibility required to cover events, projects, and emergencies. You will also be required to complete your formal training as part of the apprenticeship programme.

Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day IT support, including password resets, queries, and escalations.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware such as laptops, switches, access points, and printers.
- Managing software installs and updates, including Microsoft Office Suite, Sage, FuseMetrix, PuTTY, MremoteNG and 3CX.
- Monitoring and maintaining servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra, Hyper-V, and cloud services.
- Creating and updating network diagrams and ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Assisting with designing and implementing cyber security policies, conducting vulnerability scans, and supporting remediation.
- Using automation tools (Cronjobs, PowerShell, Batch) to improve efficiency.
- Collaborating with the wider IT team to support cloud migration and continuous improvement projects.
- Learning and applying best practices in IT operations, compliance, and security.

- Basic knowledge of IT systems, networks, or security (desirable but not essential).

- An apprenticeship includes regular training with JBC Skills Training
- At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying
- You will be appointed a skills trainer who will meet with you remotely every 6-8 weeks for reviews and support with your Summative Portfolio work

Essential qualifications
- GCSE English (Grade A - C (4 or above)) essential
