The Law Practice
We are one of the largest barrister chambers in the country with over 180 barristers covering all aspects of legal practice
Your role
The Clerks room is open planned with clerks sat in their respective teams.
We have 6 criminal clerks – a couple work from home on odd days but the majority work in the office.
It can get very busy in the afternoons but our team are very friendly and work very well together.
The role will include many of the following:
- Provide invaluable admin support.
- Access to lots of email mailboxes to check case and court listings.
- Uploading papers and booking in cases.
- Chasing case papers and scheduling case meeting.
- In time - taking telephone calls speaking to clients and our barristers
Future prospects
- Yes there would be a full time position available if the individual had impressed during their apprenticeship.
- Starting salary approx. £20,000 gross per annum

Desired skills
- 4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's
- Local viable commute essential
- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills
