About You
The ideal candidate will have a positive, “can-do” attitude and a passion for continuous learning and development. They will consistently strive for high standards while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as well as the ability to take initiative, manage responsibilities, and adapt to new ideas or changes. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate discretion, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to improving both their skills and the team’s performance.
Essential Experience
- GCSE Grade 4 in Maths, Science and English or equivalent.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Computer literacy.
- Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English.
Desirable Experience
- Prior HVAC and Life Safety product experience
- Mechanical & Electrical qualifications
Position Summary
You will be working towards Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician — Level 3. Whilst working with qualified Service Engineers to provide skilled support on customer sites in and around a designated geographical area, the apprentice's responsibilities will include learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops on and offsite, observing and working to all health and safety standards, completing tests and assignments.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Supporting qualified Swegon Service Engineers in their day-to-day activities who will in turn provide mentoring and training for continued development in carrying out maintenance, repair, commissioning and service support tasks across a wide range of HVAC equipment, working with our Cooling, Ventilation and Smoke & Fire Service departments.
- Travelling to various sites or company office locations where required.
- Collection and delivery of various parts and consumables in support of service works.
- Attending workshops and participating in as many learning opportunities as possible.
- Completing all training, tests and other required evaluations.
- Positively receiving feedback and offering suggestions in support of own development.
- Keeping a log of everything learned, portfolio of evidence to be able to discuss learning (site reports, photos, notes etc) and attending meetings to offer suggestions for personal development plan improvements.
- Developing professional working relationships both with the customer and other employees within the company.
- Awareness and appreciation of industry Health and Safety requirements and completion of Dynamic Risk Assessments.
- Observing site Health and Safety procedures supported by company Risk and Method Statements.
- Compliance with company policies, procedures and processes to ensure that regulations are complied with for our ongoing accreditation to REFCOM, Construction Line, BSRIA, Safe Contractor and CHAS
