The Facilities & Events Apprentice will play a key role in managing and improving our buildings and maximising the value created by our facilities for our employees, tenants, and visitors. You will develop your facilities management and customer service skills through a Level 3 Apprenticeship and will be supported to learn a new trade specialism of your choice. In this role, you will have exposure to a wide range of facilities management activities, and participate in the implementation of our multi-site Intelligent Buildings Strategy. The Facilities & Events Apprentice will take ownership of event planning and booking administration, working closely with clients, suppliers, and other teams to deliver exciting experiences leveraging our facilities and spaces.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide a Front of House Service, greeting employees, tenants, and visitors to the building.
- Provide first line support to tenants, troubleshooting problems, directing queries, and managing minor works jobs.
- Perform building start-up and shut-down procedures, building walks and routine maintenance checks.
- Manage site, room, and desk bookings. Prepare and configure spaces to meet the booking requirements.
- Coordinate and manage incoming and outgoing postal services and goods deliveries on behalf of iungo and tenants.
- Maintain min/max inventory levels on consumables and ensure all kitchens and communal areas are appropriately stocked.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks, and minor works under the supervision of the Facilities & Compliance Manager.
- Maintain and update building and services plans and drawings using CAD software.
- Learn a trade such as electrical installation, plumbing, tiling/flooring or security or fire systems.
- Plan and coordinate events working cross-functionally with the Operations Team and external suppliers including caterers and videographers.
- Survey building users to capture their experience and opportunities for improvement and evaluate responses.
- Champion Continuous Improvement (CI), identifying ways to improve facilities and make our buildings and services smarter and more efficient.
Progression
You will be given regular opportunities to develop your skills and undertake formal training in areas including maintenance skills, Project Management, and Lean Six Sigma. As a training provider, we understand the importance of regular high-quality development opportunities and will support you to undertake these during your employment with us.
