53two is Manchester's only wheelchair accessible, independent theatre venue and the only UK indie theatre to have a Changing Places toilet. It is our belief that theatre is for everyone, and why accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. This includes physical access to the building, British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation, offering affordable and PWYC tickets and even gluten free options at the bar.
The role will focus on fundraising for:
- Capital Development; eco-lighting rig, audio description booth, infrastructure etc
- Outreach; funding to continue to take our projects into schools, hospitals and community groups across Greater Manchester.
- Workshops; funding to support project-based workshops and creative learning sessions to run alongside our in-house theatre shows.
- Individual Project Funding; funding for larger scale shows, touring and in-house projects through ACE and other avenues.
Ultimate Job responsibilities include:
- Co-creating rolling, 6-month funding plans for the charity, exploring funding avenues and following the core aims and principals of the charity
- Liaise with the charity in exploring larger, longer term and future goals
- Researching and identifying funding sources
- Writing funding applications
- Identifying regular funding pots for sustaining the charity
- Collaborate on evaluation and reporting for any successful funding
Entry requirements
- 5 GCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English and Maths)
Training to be provided
The Juice Academy is an industry-led apprenticeship programme. They are partnered with industry professionals to deliver the Fundraiser Level 3. Apprentices work on the job within a charity whilst receiving 20% off the job training. The Juice Academy training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning (20%) and online delivery (80%) via Zoom. Apprentices will also receive the on the job training in the workplace. The final three months of the course will be the ‘assessment period’ during which apprentices go through an End Point Assessment. The Juice Academy partner with Apprentify, who support apprentices in the workplace through development coaching.
