We are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Careers Advisor to provide high quality, impartial careers advice for all pupils; to prepare them effectively for employment or training. The successful candidate will have experience of completing a skills bootcamp and be driven to make a real impact on students and their career outcomes. As part of the role, you will complete a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, with support and guidance from your team and University.

Main Purpose of Job
As a Skills Bootcamp careers advisor, you will be driven to support students of our bootcamps to achieve positive outcomes into self-employment or a career in their relevant industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Onboarding
- Review onboarding challenges and CVs with instructor
- Conduct onboarding interviews with the course instructor
Delivery
- Run weekly careers sessions with each cohort
- Set expectations, goals and ambitions with the students in the first week of their course
- Meeting regularly with each student to review their engagement plan for getting a job in tech. This includes:
- Evaluating goals and progress
- Assignment feedback
- Application and interview assistance
- Meeting fortnightly with each cohort instructor to:
- Update on progress from previous cohorts (M2 & M3 numbers)
- Receive updates on progress, updates and information sharing for current cohort
- Marking assignments and feedback in a timely manner.
- Owning and improving the careers curriculum
Graduate Success
- Ensure that students are achieving Milestone 2 (interview) outcomes alongside Partnerships Team
- Meeting with Graduates to arrange and prepare for interviews for a successful M3 outcome
- Ensure the organisation is meeting M2 targets (100%) and M3 Targets (85%)
General
- Help to ensure an emotionally and physically safe environment for our students and staff team.
- Assist in helping to keep our website relevant, and the creation of new content/media/tools as required
- Understand and be committed to Tech Educators philosophy, policies and practice.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings (including staff and review meetings).
- Understand and be articulate about the course offering and outcomes.
- Promote Tech Educator courses and take responsibility for representing the company in a true and fair way.
- Represent Tech Educators with external stakeholders as required.
- Contributing to staff training and development.
- Undertake any other duties, tasks or responsibilities which may reasonably be required.
Qualifications:
- We are seeking a previous bootcamp graduate who understands the requirements of completing a skills bootcamp.
Experience and Capabilities:
- Experience of completing a government funded bootcamp environment is essential.
- Proficient in modern word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet packages.
- Must excellent communication skills
- Responds positively to changing priorities
Salary, Conditions of Service, and Benefits:
1. Hours of work: 35 hours a week, 52 weeks per year. With 25 days leave plus bank holidays. The time is 09:00 - 17:00.
2. New appointments are subject to a six-month probationary period
3. Membership of the auto enrolment pension scheme on successfully meeting the qualifying criteria
4. The successful applicant will be required to complete and obtain a DBS check from the Vetting and Barring Bureau which Tech Educators will pay the cost of.
5. This job description is current at the date shown. It may be changed from time to time in negotiation with the Post Holder
6. The salary for the role is in line with the salary offered for your age for a degree-apprenticeship.
