The Job Role
As a civil engineering technician apprentice you will learn and put into practice a broad range of civil engineering skills as well as project management and engagement and consultation required for roles within the Highways Service. The role is to provide technical support to engineers and other construction professionals in the design, development, construction and maintenance of the built environment.
You will work towards a Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician
We’d like to hear from you if you are:
- Interested in a career in Civil Engineering
- Very technical and interested in a technical career
- Wanting to continue to develop educationally while learning on the job
- Good at working as part of a team
You will need:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade A* - C/4 – 6 including Maths (Grade B/5), English and Science or their equivalent
- An interest in civil engineering
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety and how it applies to the role
