adi Lean Manufacturing and Design Apprentice CNC Machinist
Location – Birmingham
Working alongside our skilled and experienced staff to gain the required skills, whilst working towards a nationally recognised Technical and National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) qualification. The adi Apprentice Academy provides a tailored development programme and network with other apprentices within the business.
All apprentices are offered a wide range of work place experience and our Apprentice Academy is designed to fully support the learner throughout the duration of the apprenticeship training programme to become a highly capable, skilled and valued member of our work force.
About the Role
This is a hands-on training opportunity for someone interested in learning how to operate and program CNC machines to produce precision components. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced machinists while gaining practical skills and knowledge to advance toward a career as a qualified CNC Machinist.
Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC milling and turning machines.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Support senior machinists with daily production tasks.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and free of safety hazards.
- Maintain logs of work performed and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and coursework as part of the apprenticeship program.
About you
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- A Grade 4 or above in both Maths and English GCSE’s.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills
- Practical awareness skills
- Are professional and detail-oriented
