The role
You’ll be joining an exciting, fast-paced team focussed on growing the Howden business. Our Bid Management team plays a crucial role in securing new business by overseeing the end-to-end process of responding to tenders and proposals. They are responsible for shaping the narrative that differentiates Howden in the insurance market and reinforces our brand credibility and client trust through high quality bid responses.
Throughout the apprenticeship you’ll gain experience across both Bid Coordination and Bid Design meaning you’ll learn how to sell Howden to our clients. You’ll develop skills such as how to write persuasive content and how to create high-quality, visually engaging documentation for major clients. You’ll also work on pitch presentations and client reports and liaise with departments from across Howden offering a level of exposure to the wider Howden business that is unrivalled.
You’ll also complete the Certificate in Insurance (Level 3) Chartered Insurance Institute qualification, which provides a grounding in basic general insurance principles.
What you’ll do
- Attend bid kick off meetings to understand how we tailor responses to win work
- Create the project management documents needed to run the bids process
- Work with a Bid Manager to articulate the Howden proposition to our clients
- Learn the basic fundamentals of design enabling you to format and design documents in Word and PowerPoint to a high professional standard
- Learn to follow brand guidelines and deliver creative, tailored solutions for every bid
- Learn to take ownership of proofreading, layout quality, and accuracy
- Have the opportunity to undertake rotations into other parts of the Howden business
Who we’re looking for
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- An incredibly high level of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and thrive under pressure
- Strong communication skills and team mindset
