Position Overview:
As an IT and Telecommunications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing 1st line technical support for telecom and IT systems. Your responsibilities will encompass technical investigation, project management, site surveying, and installations, ensuring the highest level of service delivery to our clients.
This will be an office based and on-site role requiring you to visit our customers at their locations for diagnostics and remediation. We are looking for candidates of varied experience and training will be provided in areas where expertise may not be present.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 product suite.
- Excellent independent diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to self-learn
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Must have a clean Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in IT support or related industry
- Cabling and structured network experience
Key Responsibilities:
1st Line Support:
- Respond to and resolve technical issues reported by customers, both remotely and on-site.
- Provide effective troubleshooting and technical assistance to end-users.
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution.
Technical Investigation:
- Conduct in-depth technical investigations to identify and diagnose telecom and IT-related problems.
- Analyse system logs, error messages, and performance data to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to enhance system reliability.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver telecom and IT projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of project tasks.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders.
Site Surveying:
- Conduct thorough site surveys to assess the technical requirements for telecom and IT installations.
- Document site conditions, constraints, and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to develop accurate project proposals.
Installations:
- Perform installations and configurations of telecom and IT systems at client sites.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices during installations.
- Conduct comprehensive testing to validate system functionality post-installation.
- Investigate and resolve hardware and cabling related issues on site.
