Introduction
This role will be working within Social Value and will be supporting the Social Value (LLBS) team. This team works with contractors providing services to Lewisham Council who have Social Value commitments built into their contract.
The role will provide administrative support to the service, with specific projects to undertake.
What’s the role?
You will contribute to the smooth running of the LLBS through tasks crucially in the data recording and management of Social Value reporting by contractors. You will also support in the day to day activities of the Social Value team such as liaising with Lewisham Council’s internal contract managers, external contractors and other stakeholders.
You will learn to understand the workings of a team, completing business admin tasks, how to work with colleagues across multiple directorates and with external contractors, deliver projects and events and develop partnerships. By the end of your placement you will be skilled to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to multi task and deliver work to an outstanding standard. You will have a developed a good understanding of the services that are in place to to deliver Social Value initiatives in Lewisham through the mechanism of procurement.
This is a small team so at times the workload will be busy. You will need to be self-motivated, be prepared to take on responsibility and use your own initiative. You will need to be organised to meet monitoring and department deadlines.

What we’re looking for
The successful candidate must be able to learn quickly and apply knowledge to new situations. Be able to keep calm under pressure and deal with challenging situations. Complete work to a high standard and use own initiative within a team environment Strong IT and organisation skills are a must.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions
To be eligible to apply for this position you must:
- Be over the age of 16 (there is no upper age limit)
- Be a Lewisham borough resident (the electoral register will be used to verify this information)
- Have full residency entitlement, there must be no restrictions on your status in the UK (all successful candidates will need to produce their passport once a job offer is made)
- Have the minimum number of qualifications required as stated in the relevant job description
