Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable IT/Digital Support Technician Apprentice to provide frontline technical support and guidance to staff and users. The successful candidate will use their IT fundamentals knowledge to troubleshoot basic software issues, support productivity through effective IT tool usage, and promote internet safety best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide first-line support for common IT issues related to software, hardware, and network access.
· Assist users with installing, configuring, and using IT applications and productivity tools.
· Troubleshoot and resolve basic software problems or escalate to senior IT staff when necessary.
· Guide staff in improving productivity by effectively using IT tools and applications.
· Promote awareness of internet safety, data protection, and secure computing practices among users.
· Maintain records of support requests and resolutions using ticketing or helpdesk software.
· Assist in updating IT documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
· Collaborate with the IT team to support system upgrades and maintenance.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
· Level 2 Certificate in IT or equivalent, covering:
· Basic understanding of common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, email clients).
· Good problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
· Awareness of internet security principles and safe computing practices.
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
· Ability to work under supervision and prioritize support requests.
Desirable Attributes:
· Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
· Interest in developing further IT support and networking skills.
· Customer-focused attitude and patience in dealing with user issues.
