Overview of the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in Human Resources. As an HR Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, supporting the entire employee lifecycle. You’ll work closely with a supportive HR team and be involved in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, wellbeing, and more. We’re looking for someone organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about people who’s keen to contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Administration & Systems
- Maintain accurate records in the HR system (UKG) and personnel files.
- Monitor HR inboxes and track/respond to queries promptly.
- Provide administrative support to the team.
- Maintain employee benefits information (e.g. Perkpal, parking).
2. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with casual recruitment and onboarding tasks, including right-to-work checks.
- Coordinate interview logistics and induction packs.
- Maintain applicant and candidate records.
3. Learning & Development
- Support delivery of compliance and induction training.
- Track training completions and maintain metrics.
4. Employee Engagement & Wellbeing
- Assist with HR-led wellbeing and engagement events.
- Organise staff events, gifts, rewards, and townhalls.
5. Compliance & Safeguarding
- Ensure confidentiality, GDPR compliance, and safeguarding best practices.
6. General Administration
- Type up meeting notes and manage general office duties (e.g. stationary orders).

Essential
- Genuine interest in HR or business administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Discretion with confidential information.
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and grow.
Desirable
- Office or customer service experience (paid or voluntary).
- Interest in employment law or HR practices.
- Desire to undertake a CIPD Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship.
